Bearcat T&F etches two national titles and eight All-America finishes on final day of 2024 NCAA DII Indoor Championships

PITTSBURG, Kan. -- The Northwest Missouri State women's 4x400-meter relay team posted a new all-time NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field record on the final day of the Indoor Championships. Senior Tiffany Hughey claimed a 400-meter title. 

As a team, the Northwest Missouri State track and field squads crowned two national champions, 22 individual All-America honors, and broke five school records at the 2024 NCAA Division II Indoor Championship meet. 

The Northwest men finished in sixth place with 28 points, as the women placed seventh, also with 28 points. With the women's seventh-place finish, it is the highest finish in Bearcat history. On the men's side, the sixth-place finish is tied for second-highest in Bearcat history.  

Field Events:
High jump (M): Senior Blake Morgan cleared 2.03m (6-08) to finish in 15th place in the event. 

Running Events:
400m dash (M): Junior Prince Griffin claimed a third-place finish with a new season-best time of 47.32. With Griffin's finish, he also receives an All-America honor. 

400m dash (W): Senior Tiffany Hughey was crowned a National Champion in the women's 400-meter dash. Hughey set a new school record time of 52.58 and solidified her as an All-America honoree. Junior Chloe Saenz placed sixth with a time of 55.15.

800m run (M): Sophomore Maxime Touron claimed a fifth-place finish, clocking in at a school record time of 1:49.61. Touron has claimed an All-America honor with his performance. 

800m run (W): Junior Kaylee Harp claimed a sixth-place finish, crossing the finish line in 2:10.55. Harp has claimed an All-America honor with her finish in the event. 

200m dash (M): Junior Joel Dos Santos has received All-America status while finishing fifth place in the event. Dos Santos crossed the finished line in 21.35. 

4x400 Relay (M): The quartet of Danny Jantzen, Truman Hare, Gavyn Monday, and Prince Griffin earned All-America status with a school record time of 3:09.86. The relay team's race came neck-and-neck with Pittsburg State as Northwest was .08 away from claiming the crown. 

4x400 Relay (W): Another National Champion was crowned for Northwest in the event. The quartet of Chloe Saenz, Kaylee Harp, Luisarys Toledo, and Tiffany Hughey ran a new school record, meet record, and all-time Division II Indoor Track and Field record, and earned All-America status with a time of 3:35.30.
