Researching food waste and preservation
To build this new body of research, our global team went into consumers’ homes, collecting 60 in-depth interviews and journal entries from consumers across five countries. They also gathered new insights from quantitative exploration conducted throughout 2023 with over 5,000 consumers from ten countries.
The insights scratch the surface of how to solve for food waste as an industry and the complex challenge of consumer food waste reduction.
One takeaway is clear: Products that are regularly wasted in consumers’ homes are likely to be replaced.
