The annual Casambi Awards recognize the ingenious deployment in architectural lighting projects and products, ensuring excellence in design, functionality, and sustainability. ENTRIES NOW CLOSED.
Casambi Awards: Categories for 2024.
This year’s judges will evaluate entries under two categories: Best Casambi Ready Product and Best Casambi-controlled Project. They’re seeking outstanding examples of lighting design and products with innovative concepts—whether that’s making sustainable strides, pioneering totally new directions in lighting design, or achieving excellence in intelligent, seamless lighting control. Winning entries will embody the trifecta of being smarter, safer, and greener while adding a distinctive and unique touch to the lighting landscape.

Entry is free. Submit your entry with up to 6 high-quality photos and an optional video URL.

Casambi Award Nominations for Best Casambi Ready Product.
For Best Casambi Ready Product, submit any commercially available product incorporating Casambi technology, such as a switch, driver, sensor, luminaire, or similar.
Casambi Award Nominations for Best Casambi-controlled Project.
This category welcomes any architectural lighting project that has utilized Casambi technology, even if it is not yet 100% completed (must be in the final installation phase, no location restrictions imposed).

Why enter the Casambi Awards?
The winners will be showcased in arc magazine, a leading international publication on architectural lighting. We’ll also be leveraging our own platforms for extensive promotion, creating a buzz at Light + Building too. As an added bonus, winners will receive booty bags from us, including our much-loved Casambi demo cubes.

Let’s meet the 2024 jury!
Shoshanna Segal Principal at Hartranft Lighting Design, USA.
Shoshanna Segal believes in the power of light to create a more equitable and accessible world. Using both the artistic and scientific sides of her brain, she illuminates spaces where people live, work, and learn, as this is the way she can effect change for the greatest number of people. Years of professional practice have taught her that lighting provides opportunities to realize synergies among technology, social interaction, and commerce. Ms. Segal practices creating these synergies as a Principal at Hartranft Lighting Design. She is among the first professionals in the world to achieve the international certification CLD and is currently serving as president of the IES-NYC.
Nikolaj Birkelund, lighting designer, For The Love of Light, Denmark.
Nikolaj is the founder and creative director of the independent lighting design studio Fortheloveoflight, based in the heart of Copenhagen. With a background as an electronics technician, which grounds him technically and makes him naturally curious about technology and innovation, Nikolaj is motivated and driven by the strong experiences and impact light can create in our lives. As a studio, Fortheloveoflight searches for these experiences through an experimental but systematic process developed from a project’s core narratives and overall vision. For them, it is important, as they plan new installations that take a place in the world, to strive to make them visually aesthetic and meaningful for the people they influence. Lighting must never be left to chance but should mindfully be conceived to inspire with an element of amazement.
Fernando García, CEO of ELECTRONICA OLFER SL, Spain.
Fernando, a computer engineer deeply passionate about technology and lighting, not only oversees the company but also actively engages in the technical aspects of technology and lighting control. His journey in the lighting industry began in 2006 with the advent of LED technology – so he knows a thing or three about the ongoing transition. OLFER stands as the world’s first official Casambi 4C training center. They distribute all Casambi solutions, providing training, installation support, and designing their own Casambi Ready products.
Yvonne Soh, Executive Director, Singapore Green Building Council, Singapore.
A passionate advocate for corporate climate action, Yvonne Soh leads the team at the Singapore Green Building Council (SGBC), an industry organization established on a foundation of public-private engagement to drive the transformation of Singapore’s built environment. Key programs of the Council include the Singapore Green Building Product and Singapore Green Building Services certification schemes, which have been instrumental in furthering the impact of green buildings in Singapore. Yvonne is a Green Mark Accredited Professional, Greenhouse Gas Practitioner, and Professional Engineer (Civil). She has wide-ranging experience in both the private and public sectors, having worked as an engineer in the private sector with an international multi-disciplinary consultancy firm before joining the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), where she headed the Centre for Sustainable Buildings and managed portfolios in policy development, industry promotion, and R&D.
Giorgio Pierini, Design Liaison Manager, iGuzzini Illuminazione, England.
Giorgio joined iGuzzini almost 20 years ago, in 2004, as a junior designer at iGuzzini’s Recanati Headquarters. Since then, he has developed extensive international experience in lighting, working worldwide: from initiating the lighting solutions department at iGuzzini Shanghai in 2006 to managing the New York City showroom for over 7 years. Today, Giorgio leads the lighting solutions department at iGuzzini UK, overseeing the team that provides technical support to designers, lighting consultants, architects, engineers, and end-users on how to best utilize iGuzzini products and services. During his time at iGuzzini, Giorgio has collaborated directly with some of the industry’s leading lighting designers and architects on major projects, including the Royal Academy of Arts, the Gilbert and George Centre, Courtauld Art Galleries, Oman Museum Across Ages, and Istanbul Modern. Through these and many other projects, he has cultivated a passion for lighting culture and a deep understanding of the various shades of light.
