Murals at Mason
produces public art projects to create a sense of place and community on campus and in surrounding public areas. Initiated in 2017, our program has installed five large scale public art projects on campus, and launched an experiential learning and entrepreneurial program that teaches student artists how to plan, design, and paint murals for on- and off-campus clients.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Murals at Mason now hires and mentors artists through the mural-making process for on- and off-campus clients, in addition to commissioning professional murals on-campus and locally. There are ongoing opportunities for students studying art, social justice, non-profit management, business, and more, to learn valuable skills with Murals at Mason.

Follow us on social media @muralsatmason or email Yassmin Salem at ysalem@gmu.edu for the latest information.

To support students and advance public art on campus, we appreciate your donations! All donations go toward project supplies and artist fees.
