About

🎇 Driven to support emerging market disruptors in technology and beyond in content and brand storytelling, as well as media and public relations strategy. Leaders, founders, entrepreneurs and orgs looking to tell their story with integrity and authenticity.

🚀 Founder of Start Me Up PR, startmeuppr.com: Content, Brand Storytelling, Media Relations strategy and support for tech and emerging market disruptors. Minus the people-pleasing, heavy on the truth, and easy on the canned key messages... All good stories have a head 🧠 and heart 🫀(knees and toes).

👩‍💻 Spearheaded communications and content strategy initiatives for various for-profit and non-profit businesses, post-secondary institutions, tech start-ups and women in technology/STEM focused organizations.

✍️ Headed up award-winning magazine teams, and strategies around integrated digital and print content projects.

📰 Started career as an ink-stained wretch in Western Canada as a journalist, writer, editor, and photographer. 🕵️‍♀️ Was a “staffer” with Postmedia, Torstar (Metro) & Sun Media and lived to tell the tale. And has inked for publications across the Globe, especially the Great White North and taken photos for them too. Written for magazines (Macleans, Avenue, UCalgary, Swerve, University Affairs).

📣 Proud to be one of the only journalists in YYC who weathered both the Sun and Herald before the merge and the founding reporter on Metro when it came to town to disrupt our precarious newsrooms.

📸 ✈️ When not helping spearhead content strategy, I can be found with a camera and passport in hand, headed to an airport and looking for new adventures to document.
