Sustainable Futures Initiative

Sun burst with hexagon overlay and text, 'Sustainable Futures'

The Sustainable Futures Initiative aims to make the University of Waterloo a global leader in sustainability research, education and innovation for the benefit of the environment, economy and society. The initiative will build on and elevate the research, education and innovation activities taking place within and across three of Waterloo’s research institutes: the Waterloo Climate Institute, the Waterloo Institute for Sustainable Energy and the Water Institute. The initiative will catalyze new collaborations that will unlock solutions for greater impact and provide a more holistic approach to achieving the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals in Canada and elsewhere.
