North Little Rock Farmer’s Market Week

North Little Rock’s Farmer’s Market week will be from June 12 to June 17 and we hope that you join us in celebrating and supporting all the amazing farmer’s markets located in North Little Rock!

BJ’s Market Café

BJ’s Market Café is a farmers’ market with a homestyle cooking restaurant that uses many of the same ingredients on sale in the store. Because of this hybrid model BJ’s makes a great place to take a break from grocery shopping to grab a bite to eat before getting back to stocking your pantry!

The Filling Station

The Filling Station is a local food truck court farmers market with an array of rotating food trucks, local produce, jellies, jams, salsa, baked goods, beer and tons of local artisan crafts and unique finds.

Kristi Short has been working with the Filling Station for two years and loves working with local farmers on providing an avenue for them to promote and sell their products. Kristi says her favorite part about working at the Filling Station is seeing all their customers and their families. “We have some [people] that have been coming since the day we opened and new faces every week.”

The Filling Station has a wonderful selection of food trucks that regularly visit but they are mostly a market and a store. “So many just see the food tucks and do not realize we are so much more. We have and array of local an unique items throughout along with local brews to go with your food truck food.” Kristi’s go-to items every season are Black Diamond Watermelons and Heirloom tomatoes so be sure to check them out!

At the Filling Station there is both indoor and outdoor, pet-friendly, seating and they even occasionally host local bands both big and small!

Faulkner Lake Orchard

Faulkner Lake Orchard Wedding and Event Center was the vision of Herb Martin and is a working family-owned and operated farm nestled in the middle of thirty beautiful acres, just fifteen minutes from Downtown Little Rock.

When in season, they offer our customers the experience of picking their own ripe strawberries and sun-kissed peaches. You can also shop their Farm Market for honey, jams, and jellies that are made right here in our own kitchen. A large variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables are grown right there on the farm, picked daily and are available for you to purchase.

Faulkner Lake Orchard Farmer's Market

Don’t forget to bring your camera because the beauty of the farm is evident. Enjoy their farm and drink in the spring breeze or perhaps stroll around the peach orchard taking in the fresh scent of the peaches as they begin to ripen in June, July, and August.

Their farm market gates are open around the 15th of April and run through August.

St. Joseph’s Farm Stand

St. Joseph’s Farm Stand is a certified naturally grown farm that focuses on buying Arkansas grown and Arkansas made produce and products. St. Joseph’s aims to buy as close to home as possible.

Michelle Sellabarger started volunteering with the Farm Stand around 2019 with her family. “I love people and this is the perfect job for that! I also love learning, educating people about food, and making connections with farmers and other farmer’s market managers.”

St. Joseph’s has a long history and all the profits from the Farm Stand goes back into the preservation of that property and that history and they are almost entirely volunteer run.

During the Spring Michelle recommends their strawberries as well as the fresh green they get from Malvern. In the summer the Sungold tomatoes grown at St. Joeph’s are Michelle’s favorite, “they are a sweet bit of sunshine in a cherry tomato.” Esau’s corn as well as watermelons from Monticello or Cave City are also must-haves for the summer. Once Fall comes around then apples from northwest Arkansas and all the amazing gourds and pumpkins are definitely the favorites.

St. Joseph’s Farm Stand is open almost year round with a few small breaks. The full market runs from March to October with several night markets with vendors during the year. Their online order system is the best way to get what you want and not have to wait in line. Customers can order online at farmstand.stjosephcenter.org starting on Mondays with pick-up via drive through on Fridays contact free from 4 to 6 PM and Saturdays from 9-5 PM.
