We have been shortlisted for Sustainability Company of the year at the Multimodal Exhibition Awards 2024 🏆 PD Ports has a publicly stated aim to be the UK’s most sustainable port operator. We operate in a sector reliant on heavy plant and machinery, but we place huge importance on researching, developing and implementing ways to lessen our environmental impact. Our chief executive Frans Calje set a challenge to achieve carbon neutrality across our Tees-based landside operations by 2027. Thanks to concerted efforts, we are already on our way to achieving this target, with CO2 emissions in this part of our operations already back to levels last seen in 2000. We are proud of our achievements to date but we are not complacent – we will continue to build on our work so far to reach our goals. We look forward to attending the Multimodal Awards in June to celebrate these achievements and hope to see you there.

We are looking for a Vessel Traffic Services Officer to join the Harbour Masters team ⚓ As one of the United Kingdom’s major deep-water harbours, the ports of Tees and Hartlepool have approximately 8,000 commercial vessel movements annually. PD Ports is a leading UK port business offering end-to-end supply chain solutions, employing over 1,500 people in the UK. With headquarters based in the Northeast of England, PD Ports owns and operates the UK’s third largest port by volume. Operating out of 11 key ports and logistics centers across the UK, we are committed to retaining and developing talent nationwide. A new Border Control Post (BCP) has officially opened its doors at Teesport today, to coincide with the first day of the UK Border Target Operating Model, which has introduced physical checks on animal and plant imports coming into Britain from the EU. The updated facility, which can handle ambient and chilled goods in food-grade conditions, completes PD Ports’ investment in post-Brexit Border Control operations. Frans Calje, PD Ports chief executive officer, said: “The new Border Control facility keeps Teesport in line with the latest government regulations and means food products will be handled in an environment that meets the highest hygiene standards during checks by Port Health officials.” Handling of SPS (sanitary and phytosanitary) consignments is available for all shipments coming into Teesport, for new and existing customers. To find out more about how PD Ports can assist with meeting Border Control regulations, email commercial@pdports.co.uk For more information on the regulations and procedures email port.health@redcar-cleveland.gov.uk More information on our designation can be found here https://lnkd.in/eDYBUWEp

Last week Paul from Reintegreat visited our head office in Middlesbrough along with High Tide Foundation to present us with these framed photographs to thank us for facilitating visits for their students on the River Tees. Paul said "for many of them the visit was eye opening, introducing them to careers they had not previously considered and offering new opportunities on their doorstep." High Tide Foundation is an independent charity delivering meaningful work experience and career programmes to schools and colleges for young people in the Tees Valley. Playing an important role in opening young people’s eyes and minds to the area’s diverse range of career opportunities. As the largest private employer in the Tees Valley and co-founders of the High Tide Foundation we will continue to inspire and encourage young people into industry, raising visibility of careers in maritime.
