    Kars

    Among the pine forests in Sarıkamış, you’ll find Türkiye’s best quality snow. The Sarıkamış Ski Resort is in the Eastern Anatolia Region, 55 km southwest of Kars, on Camurlu Mountain at an altitude of 2,100-2,634 m. The resort has a 1,435-meter-long, first-stage mechanical track (chairlift) with a capacity of 1,800 people/hour, and a 2,250-meter-long, second-stage mechanical center (chairlift) with a capacity of 800 people/hour. There is a total of 7 ski tracks at service at Sarıkamış. The resort is 60 km southwest of the center of Kars, 50 km from Kars Harakani Airport, and is also accessible from Erzurum Airport. There are direct buses to the ski resort from Kars Harakani Airport (40 min) and Erzurum Airport (90 min). 

    Different ski areas are located at various distances from the city center, including Cıbıltepe (2,200-2,634 m) to the southeast; Süphan Mountain to the west (2,200-2,900 m); and Ağbaba to the east (2,200-2,810 m).

    Sarıkamış Ski Resort has 5 lap tracks of a total length of 12 kilometers that run among the pine trees. The resort overlooks the beautiful Cıbıltepe. Cıbıltepe has five ski runs, the longest of which is 12 km long. The snow here has a crystal structure which makes skiing challenging.

    The average depth of the snow at Sarıkamış Ski Resort is 1.5 m and it is quite typical of Alpine conditions. The season lasts from December 20 to March 20. The region has a terrestrial climate, with a dominant southwesterly wind direction.
