Dave McCormick took to the stage in Pittsburgh, PA this evening to announce he's running for U.S. Senate in 2024.

"The hour is late, but our future is bright," says McCormick.

McCormick announced his intentions specifically to beat current Senator Bob Casey.

In a press release, McCormick's office says he has received the endorsement of every Republican member of Congress from Pennsylvania: Brian Fitzpatrick, Dan Meuser, Scott Perry, Lloyd Smucker, John Joyce, Guy Reschenthaler, Mike Kelly and Glenn Thompson.

The chairman of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, Sen. Sharif Street issued a statement in response to McCormick's announcement:

There is a clear difference in this race. Senator Bob Casey has been a staunch advocate for American workers and has tirelessly worked to pass pivotal legislation, including measures to cap the cost of insulin for seniors and enhance veterans’ healthcare access. Senator Casey has consistently stood up for working families and has played a crucial role in securing billions of dollars in infrastructure investments for Pennsylvania, exemplified by the full funding of the Montgomery Locks and Dam project on the Upper Ohio River in the inaugural year of the infrastructure law.
