ECU // LAV Launches Sprint to Save Democracy Tour

End Citizens United // Let America Vote is launching its ‘Sprint to Save Democracy Tour,’ a campaign tour in the final weeks leading up to the election to support candidates who will protect the voice and vote of every American.

It will include campaign stops in battleground states across the country, beginning with Ohio, Michigan, and Arizona this week. ECU // LAV will be traveling with and joined by a number of partners over the course of the tour, including Senator Amy Klobuchar, Senator Sherrod Brown, and Rep. Jason Crow.

“MAGA Republicans across the country are threatening our democracy and our freedoms. That’s why voters list threats to our democracy as their number one issue heading into the midterms, and why we are launching our Sprint to Save Democracy Tour,” said End Citizens United // Let America Vote President Tiffany Muller.“We need to elect champions of Democracy this November to take on the wealthy special interests and prevent MAGA Republicans from imposing their extremist agenda on the American people.”

The Sprint to Save Democracy Tour will kick off this week with events in Ohio, Michigan, and Arizona with candidates including:

  • Former Mayor Nan Whaley (OH-Gov.)
  • Governor Gretchen Whitmer (MI-Gov.) and Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist (MI-Lt. Gov.)
  • Attorney General Dana Nessel (MI-AG)
  • Hillary Scholten (MI-03)
  • Senator Mark Kelly (AZ-Sen.)

ECU // LAV is a leading anti-corruption and voting rights group.

The grassroots-funded political action committee raised and spent $65.5 million in the 2020 election cycle to elect candidates fighting to limit the influence of big money in politics and protect the freedom to vote. Since its founding in 2015 the group has nearly 950 thousand grassroots donors and has raised $146 million to help elect its endorsed candidates. In the 2020 cycle, it helped elect 215 endorsed candidates. This cycle, 94% of ECU // LAV endorsed candidates have won their primaries to date.

In 2021, ECU // LAV Action Fund led the fight to pass the Freedom to Vote Act, running a $42 million campaign in support of the once-in-a-generation anti-corruption and voting rights legislation.
