The Student Veteran Excellence Award is presented to a student veteran at an institution of the Texas A&M University System who:
- Demonstrates service to the campus and/or community
- Exemplifies the core values of the campus or military services
- Serves as an advocate for student veterans or veteran issues

- The Veteran Support Excellence Award is presented to a full-time faculty or staff member at an institution of the Texas A&M University System who:
- Directs the growth of student veterans
- Serves as an advocate for student veterans or veteran issues
