Jonathan Davenport Takes Buckeye Spring 50 for $12,000!

Jonathan Davenport, of Blairsville, Georgia, claimed his second checkered flag of the 2024 campaign on Sunday, March 24 at Atomic Speedway in Alma, Ohio! Jonathan earned Fast Time honors during the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series qualifying session prior to securing a victory in his heat race. After starting the 'Buckeye Spring 50' from the pole position, JD led laps 1-14 and 17-50 to pocket the $12,000 first place prize money ahead of runner-up Mike Marlar, Devin Moran, Jimmy Owens, and Bobby Pierce!

Earlier in the doubleheader weekend on Saturday, March 23 at Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana, Jonathan started off the night by posting the fourth quickest time in Group B during the qualifying session prior to placing third in his stacked heat race. After rolling off from the outside of the sixth row in the $15,000 to win headliner, Jonathan slipped back a few spots during the course of the 50-lap 'Indiana Icebreaker' and was officially scored in the fifteenth finishing position. Top Five for Davenport in Deuces Wild Finale at GIS!

The 2024 version of "Speedweeks" for the #49 team came to a close on February 23-24 at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Georgia. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the 'Deuces Wild' weekend with the High Limit Sprint Car Series and the double-dip for the Super Late Models was scheduled to start on Friday night with a $10,000 to win throwdown. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans and the contest was canceled due to inclement weather.

On Saturday evening at GIS, a total of 45 competitors signed into the pit area to do battle for the $20,000 first place prize money. Jonathan Davenport timed in fourth quickest in Group A during the time trial session prior to securing a victory in heat race action. After rolling off third on the grid in the 50-lap main event, Jonathan brought home a solid fifth place effort behind only winner Mike Marlar, Brandon Sheppard, Chris Madden, and Brandon Overton. Davenport Captures Victory in Final Winternationals!

With East Bay Raceway Park set to close at the end of this year, the final 'Winternationals' program ever for the Super Late Models took place tonight at the storied Gibsonton, Florida facility. A total of 65 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series competitors signed into the pit area to vie for the $15,000 payday in front of a standing-room-only crowd. Following his big win last night, Jonathan Davenport timed in sixth quickest in Group A during qualifying before running second in his heat race. JD then picked off five racecars during the course of the 50-lap A-Main on his way to a solid sixth place effort behind only winner Daulton Wilson, Brandon Sheppard, Tyler Erb, Garrett Smith, and Devin Moran.

(February 9, 2024) Jonathan Davenport, of Blairsville, Georgia, claimed his first feature win of the 2024 campaign tonight in round five of the 'Winternationals' at East Bay Raceway Park! After clicking off the fastest lap in Group B during the qualifying session and winning his heat race, Jonathan started the 50-lap main event from the outside of the front row. He then led the first twelve circuits of the contest before regaining the point for good on lap 29. (February 8, 2024) It was a busy night at East Bay Raceway Park, as a pair of features were held at the track deemed as the "Clay by the Bay." In the regularly scheduled $10,000 to win program for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Jonathan Davenport won his heat race in preliminary action prior to finishing a close runner-up in the 40-lap headliner behind only victor Jimmy Owens. With a $5,000 payday on the line in the rain postponed main event from Monday evening, JD was an early retiree in the 30-lapper and settled for a twenty-third place showing in the non-points race.

(February 7, 2024) The 48th edition of the 'Winternationals' continued tonight at East Bay Raceway Park, as a $7,000 winner's check was up for grabs for the cars and stars racing with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series. Jonathan Davenport earned Fast Time honors during the qualifying session before securing a victory in heat race action. After leading the 40-lap feature on three different occasions (laps 1-11, 19, 21-26), Jonathan settled for a strong third place podium performance in the action-packed race behind only victor Tyler Erb and runner-up Mike Marlar!

(February 6, 2024) A $5,000 first place prize was on the line tonight at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida in what was essentially round one of the 'Winternationals' due to Monday's rain-out. Jonathan Davenport toured the 1/3-mile oval second quickest in Group B during the qualifying session prior to recording a heat race victory. JD then started fourth on the grid in the 30-lap feature and was able to move up one spot during the caution-free affair to land on the podium in third behind only victor Hudson O'Neal and runner-up Daulton Wilson!

(February 5, 2024) Tonight's opening portion of the 48th Annual 'Winternationals' at East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida has been postponed. The $5,000 to win show for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be made up in segments at the conclusion of each regularly scheduled program over the course of the next three nights at the "Clay by the Bay."

At the conclusion of Tuesday's program, time trials for Monday's event will be contested. On Wednesday, heat races and B-Mains for Monday will be contested at the conclusion of the regularly scheduled program. Finally, the 25-lap A-Main from Monday will take place following Thursday night’s shootout.

Speedweeks Rolls on for Davenport at All-Tech Raceway

The #49 team was in the pit area at All-Tech Raceway in Ellisville, Florida on February 2-3 for a pair of Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series contests. With a $12,000 top prize up for grabs in Friday's weekend lid lifter, Jonathan Davenport finished fifth in both his heat race and B-Main, utilized a series provisional to gain access into the 50-lap feature, and later salvaged a fifteenth place effort. On Saturday evening with a $15,000 payday on the line, Jonathan won his heat race in preliminary action, but later slipped to a fourteenth place performance in the 50-lapper. Davenport Continues Speedweeks 2024 Journey at Ocala

Jonathan Davenport and Double L Motorsports invaded Ocala Speedway in Ocala, Florida on January 30-31 for a pair of $10,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series throwdowns. On Tuesday night in the opener, Jonathan won his heat race, led the first two circuits of the 40-lap feature, and ultimately placed fourth at the checkers behind only winner Ricky Thornton, Jr., Tyler Erb, and Devin Moran. At Ocala on Wednesday evening, Jonathan ran second in his heat race, but a broken throttle return spring bracket ruined his effort in the 40-lapper and dropped him to an eleventh place performance. New Season Starts for Double L Motorsports at Brunswick

Following last night's wash out at Golden Isles Speedway, the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series presided over the third and final event of the 'Super Bowl of Racing' tonight, which boasted a whopping $25,000 first place prize. Jonathan Davenport stopped the clock third quickest in Group A during the time trial session and later won his heat race in preliminary action. After leading laps 38-48 during the 60-lap headliner, JD was moved out of the rubber by another competitor and ultimately slipped back to third at the checkers to trail only victor Ricky Thornton, Jr. and runner-up Chris Madden. (January 26, 2024) Tonight's racing action at Golden Isles Speedway has been rained out. The second leg of the 'Super Bowl of Racing' weekend at the Brunswick, Georgia-area oval, which was slated to pay $12,000 to the winner, will not be rescheduled.

(January 25, 2024) Night one of the annual 'Super Bowl of Racing' at Golden Isles Speedway near Brunswick, Georgia officially kicked off the 2024 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series season. A total of 51 Super Late Model competitors piled into the pit area today to vie for the $10,000 payday. Making his debut for the year, Jonathan Davenport clicked off the quickest lap in Group B during qualifying prior to picking up a heat race triumph. After starting the 40-lap main event from the outside of the front row and officially leading lap 22, JD settled for a strong runner-up performance in his lid lifter behind only victor Hudson O'Neal!
