About

We believe in creating a greater impact with a narrowed focus. That’s why we started our Pints with Purpose program in 2019. We focus most of our beer and cash donations on 5 community partner organizations and maximize the impacts of our gifts for the benefit of our community in WNC.

Our philanthropy is focused on five areas of need: Natural Resources, People in Need, Animals in Need, Health and Wellness, and Cultural Resources.

Our Pints with Purpose Partners

Natural Resources

Southern Appalachian Highlands ConservancySAHC is our longest community partner relationship. For over 10 years, we have donated a portion of the proceeds from our seasonal release parties and taken fans and friends on hikes through the mountains they protect to celebrate each seasonal.

Food disparity

MANNA FoodBank’s distribution warehouse is just around the corner from our brewery in East Asheville. We are a “full plate” donor who give our team time, cash donations, and donations of food and packaging supplies.

Animals in Need

Asheville Humane SocietyWe have a lot of animal lovers at Highland and the Asheville Humane Society has become a fantastic partner to make a difference in the lives of Asheville’s furriest folk. They go beyond a no-kill community to ensure that each animal has the quality of life they deserve – a life worth living.

People in need

HelpmateWe’ve partnered with Helpmate because we believe in and strive to maintain healthy relationships with alcohol and with each other. Helpmate supports people leaving situations of domestic violence as they start their journey towards hope, healing, and safety.

Cultural Resources

The WNC Nature CenterThe Western North Carolina Nature Center is our partner and our neighbor based just up the road from the brewery. The Nature Center is a 42-acre zoological park and one of the most popular parts of our local Asheville Parks and Recreation Department.
