GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) is the independent, international organization that helps businesses and other organizations take responsibility for their impacts, by providing them with the global common language to communicate those impacts.
The GRI Secretariat is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and we have a network of seven regional offices to ensure we support organizations and stakeholders worldwide.

As confirmed by 2022 research from KPMG, the GRI Standards remain the most widely used sustainability reporting standards globally.
Mission & historyOur seven regional offices, strategically located around the world, help to advance reporting and respond to the needs of local stakeholders at both regional and country level. Each office is guided by advisory groups which include high-level representation from the region.
Our regional offices are based in Johannesburg (Africa), Singapore (ASEAN), São Paulo (Brazil), Bogota (Latin America), New York (North America), and New Delhi (South Asia). All other regions (including Europe) are supported from the GRI Secretariat in Amsterdam (The Netherlands).
