Gary Rotary Bell Saga

Sometime in August or September of 2023, certain items (brass bell, name badges, meeting items) belonging to Gary Rotary and kept at Nostalgia Restaurant were discarded as the new owners of the restaurant sought to cleanup and organize the second-floor dining room. The biggest loss was the brass bell and base which were engraved with the names of previous presidents of Gary Rotary. Over 100 years old, the bell was an heirloom.

A meeting between Gary Rotary members and the new owners of the restaurant resulted in an agreement that the new owners would reimburse Gary Rotary for expenses to replace the discarded items. They have honored their pledge, and we now have our new bell, name badges and storage case, and meeting items. There is no replacing our original brass bell with the names of previous presidents of Gary Rotary, but we are now on our way to establishing a new heirloom.
