Together we stand for something greater
The Regenerative Bioscience Center at the University of Georgia, established in 2004 by Drs. Steven Stice, Franklin West, and John Peroni, connects experts from diverse fields such as veterinary medicine, science, and engineering. Together, they focus on regenerative medicine, using nanotechnology to understand and manipulate damaged cells and tissues. Their aim is to improve human and animal health by exploring ways to repair or regenerate biological components. The center, housed on the fourth floor of the Edgar L. Rhodes Center for Animal and Dairy Science building on River Road, is supported by UGA’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.

Meet our RBC Faculty
Since the beginning of the RBC, we’ve instilled in our RBC family the value of ‘Together We Stand for Something Greater.’ These words aren’t just spoken; they’re sincerely felt.
Academic Programs
We have expanded student opportunities by creating a Regenerative Bioscience Undergraduate Major (RBIO). Our understanding is that the RBIO, led by Franklin West and Holly Kinder in 2022, is truly unique as the very first of its kind. In the fall of 2023, we obtained approval for a PhD major in Regenerative Bioscience (RB), led by Lohitash Karumbaiah. Several RBC members played an active role in contributing to the development and design of the two majors. Our core faculty group, housed within the Animal and Dairy Science department at CAES, will oversee course instruction. Click on images above for more information.
