PLEASE NOTE: This is an an event announcement from a previous year. The Center for Agroforestry is not hosting a Chestnut Roast Festival in 2023. Instead, please join us at the CAFNR Showcase at MU’s South Farm on Saturday, September 30, 2023!
The 15th Annual Missouri Chestnut Roast Festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 2, at the University of Missouri Horticulture and Agroforestry Research Center (HARC) in New Franklin from 10 am to 3 pm. This festival is the signature event of the University of Missouri Center for Agroforestry (UMCA). Always a family friendly event and open to the public.
Activities include samples of fire-roasted, Missouri-grown chestnuts, displays and sales of Missouri specialty agricultural products, wagon rides and this year cooking demonstrations by Cheryl Recker. Programming will take place both in-person at HARC and online.
