Now open, the 500,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art inpatient facility was thoughtfully designed with the understanding that children see the world differently. Featuring new operating rooms, imaging capacity, emergency department space, family amenities, and CHoR’s extraordinary team of caregivers, we’re fostering a life-changing, child-centered community dedicated to providing the special care children need, in a safe space crafted especially for them.

As the only comprehensive, full-service children’s hospital in the region, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU has been committed to providing quality care for all children regardless of their family’s ability to pay. This passion for pediatric care has led to several accolades including recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s 2022-2023 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings in nephrology, pulmonary and urology. As we embark on this new chapter, the Children’s Hospital Foundation is conducting a $100 million capital campaign to support the construction of the new Children's Tower and will match the first $25 million in gifts from the community.
