Benjamin Van Tassell is Vice-Chair for Clinical Research and Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy & Outcomes Science. He is currently completing a 4-year term as a VCU Blick Scholar and also serves as Vice-Chair on the VCU Institutional Review Board. He is a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy and maintains clinical certifications as a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist and American Society of Hypertension Certified Hypertension Clinician. Dr. Van Tassell is a past recipient of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy New Investigator Award (2013) and VCU School of Pharmacy Teaching Excellence Award.
Dr. Van Tassell maintains a research group in collaboration with the Division of Cardiology in the VCU School of Medicine that focuses on the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. He maintains a clinical practice site at the Center for Healthy Hearts in Richmond, VA.
