Summer Academy of Medicine

Explore. Engage. Empower.

The Medical College of Wisconsin–Green Bay (MCW) and St. Norbert College partner to offer high school juniors and seniors a unique summer experience during the Summer Academy of Medicine.

The $800 registration fee includes housing in an SNC residence hall, meals, snacks, evening activities and an end-of-program celebration.

During the 3½-day program, students will:

  • Explore careers in medicine and the biomedical sciences
  • Engage in hands-on active learning in classrooms and laboratories
  • Gain insights into the skills, educational paths and personal qualities required for a career as a physician, researcher or scientist

The program is housed in St. Norbert College’s state-of-the-art Gehl-Mulva Science Center, home of MCW’s Green Bay campus. Classes are taught by faculty from MCW-Green Bay and St. Norbert College, with a strong emphasis on ethics, collaborative work and leadership.

The program is open to students entering their junior or senior year of high school; a limited number of scholarships are available. Participants will be housed in St. Joseph Hall on the St. Norbert campus. Meals, snacks and evening activities will be provided, and parents will be invited to join their student for the closing ceremony and lunch.

The Summer Academy of Medicine is a unique opportunity for students to explore medicine as an academic field, a career path and a vocation – all while they enjoy a taste of life on a quintessential college campus.
