  • About Us

Buckle Bunnies was founded in 2020 by a small group of young, passionate Texans. Our committment to Reproductive Justice has led us to dream of a world that provides compassionate care to communities as we work towards our collective liberation. We believe in healthcare without barriers or bans. As people who have had abortions, we know the unique struggles Texans face. We are proud to be in this fight alongside Texans who have had abortions and who will have abortions.

  • Our Story

During the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic (2020), Greg Abbott banned abortions in Texas for a short time, deeming them "elective procedures". But we knew that abortions are necessary life-saving procedures, so what's some girls and gays to do?

    START AN ABORTION FUND!

Since then, we have redistributed funds, sexual and reproductive health products, and education back into our communities all over Texas. We know that knowledge is power and abortion is a community responsibility, so when everyone has the information they deserve, they can make informed decisions about their lives and futures.

We operate as a mutual aid collective with a non-hiearchical leadership structure ran solely by volunteers, meaning that donations made go directly towards abortion funding, diapers, travel costs, and other supportive measures. It is important to us to maintain this autonomy, so we currently have no 501c(3) status and cannot accept grants or donations with that requirement.
