Ensuring a Full and Fair Count

The resources on this page are aimed at preparing AGs and other state and local officials to protect a full and fair count.

Issue Areas
Introduction

Our voices matter, our votes will be counted, and our democracy will prevail.

Vote by mail is safe and secure, and we’ve always used it. That’s how our soldiers overseas vote. But there are many more mailed votes this year, and it may take time to count all of them.

That’s OK — no state has ever completed its count on election night. Our law recognizes that it takes time to ensure all lawful votes are counted and the result is accurate.

The resources on this page are aimed at preparing AGs and other state and local officials to protect a full and fair count.
