It’s official! Karlsruhe (GER) will host The World Games 2029, becoming the first city to organise the multi-sport event twice since its inception. A proven host with a strong track record, Germany has hosted the 3rd edition of The World Games in 1989 in Karlsruhe and the 7th edition in 2005 in Duisburg, as well as countless other major international sporting events.
The International Federation of American Football (IFAF) and the International Cheer Union (ICU) have now been given full membership status of the International World Games Associations (IWGA), which brings the number of Members to 40.
With close to 100 delegates set to attend the International World Games Association (IWGA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 1 May 2024 in Esslingen (GER), the IWGA Executive Committee (ExCo) gathered today, 30 April 2024, for its third meeting of the year.
As excitement is building up to the 12th edition of The World Games 2025, to take place in Chengdu (CHN) from 7-17 August next year, the IWGA is launching a series to profile some of the qualified athletes and countries.
With the objective to further develop their overall cooperation before and during The World Games (TWG), the International World Games Association (IWGA) and the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic (FICS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 10 April 2024 in Birmingham (GBR) as the entire sport community gets together at the SportAccord Convention for a week of networking involving global business leaders, host cities, International Federations and the industry’s vast range of stakeholders.
Last week marked exactly a decade since President José Perurena took over at the helm of the International World Games Association (IWGA).
