Ski Safari (Definition) - a multi-day ski trip that takes place across a number of different ski resorts.

The long warm days of summer have all but faded into memory and the brief spectacle of fall colour will soon be replaced by naked branches. The mountains are calling, beckoning us to embrace another Canadian winter as we eagerly anticipate the arrival of the first snow and the opportunity to retrieve our winter gear from its summer hibernation. This is a time for skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, ice fishing, curling, hockey and all the adventure only winter can offer. It’s time to think about booking an RV Ski Safari!

Ski safaris in the Canadian Rockies are very popular as are ski safaris in Quebec and Ontario. Some great winter touring itineraries are available online if you’re travelling into unfamiliar territory. RV ski safaris give you the freedom to chase the powder, travelling from one set of snowy mountains to another. In pre-COVID times, this was as simple as turning up at the ticket office and buying your lift ticket. The freedom is still there but you need to add a little planning to the mix! Day lift tickets now need to be purchased online at least 24 hours before you arrive. Tickets for many resorts are available for purchase through CanaDream Club.

Accommodation at ski resorts is often pricy, so taking your family in an RV is a great way to save some money, have more privacy and still enjoy the thrill of the hill. Some winter resorts offer free overnight RV parking, usually without any services, but there’s nothing better than a ski-in, ski-out chalet on wheels!

Concerned about keeping warm in your RV? Don’t be! Winter RVs are custom manufactured for the cold Canadian climate. Featuring insulated, heated holding tanks (meaning you have full use of water - and the toilet! -  in temperatures as low as –30C), a 30,000 BTU propane furnace, insulated curtains, vent pillows and a generator, you’ll be warm and cosy when you return from a day on the ski hill.

Winter RVing isn’t just about downhill skiing and snowboarding. Locations across Canada offer exciting opportunities to cross-country ski, sled, ice skate, hike and camp. Check out Algonquin Park in winter or the cross-country skiing trails in Ontario’s MacGregor Point Provincial Park.

If you’re into skiing and are up for new experience, a ski safari is the perfect opportunity to discover the mountains in comfort in a winter RV from CanaDream. What are you waiting for?  Book your RV Ski Safari today!
