Schedule for upcoming sessions

April 30 - “Quiet Luxury and Loud Budgeting” – TikTok PFL Trends of the Past Year - Two big financial literacy “trends” of the past year are contrasting the challenges consumers face to get value for their purchases on a workable budget.  Last year the trend was “quiet luxury” – paying top dollar for quality goods, particularly understated ones that demonstrated craftsmanship or an emphasis on quality over ostentatiousness.  This year the trend has turned to “loud budgeting”, a focus on staying focused on what you can afford to spend and being up front with friends/family that you can’t afford to “keep up with the Joneses”.  We’ll look at both trends – what works, what doesn’t, what lessons we (or our students) can take from these trends, and whether we should be following social media PFL trends at all!

May 14 - Financial Foundations: Your Money Life Right Now and in the Future (Nancy Patton - Canvas Credit Union) - Your financial well-being starts with the fundamentals of spending, saving, borrowing, and future planning. Get a clear understanding of banking products, money emotions, budgeting options, savings tactics, advantages and challenges of loans, smart borrowing tips, and big picture considerations like insurance and investing. Let’s take a look at your whole money life to make your financial position stronger now and in the future.
