Medication Abortion

Medication Abortion

Medication abortion — also called "the abortion pill" — is a safe and effective way to end an early pregnancy.  The abortion pill works up to 11 weeks after pregnancy. (Remember, the abortion pill is different than Emergency Contraception, or "Plan B")

In-Clinic Abortion

In-Clinic Abortion

In-clinic abortion — also called "procedural abortion" — is a safe, simple medical procedure provided by doctors and nurses at a health center. You can have an in-clinic abortion up to 21 weeks and 6 days after the first day of your last period.

Parental Notification

Connecticut does not have a parental notification requirement. In Rhode Island, anyone under 18 years of age seeking an abortion must have the permission of at least one parent or guardian, or ask a judge to waive this requirement.
