Mitigating the Impact of ACEs on Oklahoma Families

Children of parents with opioid use disorder (OUD) are at risk of experiencing family separation, unstable housing, disruptions to school or health care, and other problems. This grant will enable the Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, the state’s only legal aid services provider, to pilot a medical-legal partnership for OUD clients and their children. The partnership will leverage medical and legal expertise to identify and reduce families’ social stressors and increase access to OUD treatment and recovery services. While there is substantial evidence on the effective of medical-legal partnerships generally, this project will document the effects of such partnerships on families affected by OUD.
