Canon Canada Named One of Canada’s Greenest Employers for Second Year in a Row

Honour recognizes the company’s commitment to creating a culture of environmental awareness

BRAMPTON, ON., JULY 14, 2020 – Canon Canada Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, is excited to announce that it was recently named one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for 2020. This is the second consecutive year that the company received recognition for being one of the country’s leaders in creating a culture of environmental awareness.

“I am proud to accept this recognition on behalf of Canon Canada,” says Nobuhiko Kitajima, President and CEO of Canon Canada. “Even as we work through challenging times, we take pride in our commitment to being an environmentally responsible company. Our corporate philosophy is Kyosei – all people, regardless of race, religion or culture, harmoniously living and working together into the future – and this honour speaks to the efforts of our employees across the country coming together to build better communities for today and tomorrow.”

Now in its 13th year, Canada’s Greenest Employers is an editorial competition organized by the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project in partnership with the Globe and Mail. The editors evaluate and select the recipients based on four sets of criteria: unique environmental initiatives and programs developed; success in reducing their environmental footprint; employee involvement in programs and whether they contribute any unique skills; and whether their initiatives have become linked to the employer’s public identity and whether they attract new people to the organization.

“It’s gratifying to work for a company that understands the importance of environmental responsibility and leadership,” says Henry Teixeira, National Senior Manager of General and Environmental Affairs for Canon Canada. “Having the support of everyone – from our executive leadership team to our newest employees – makes developing and implementing programs not only seamless but also rewarding. This award celebrates our shared successes. It’s encouraging to know we’re making a positive difference in our local communities.”

Major Features of Canon Canada’s Environmental Initiatives include:
