Research and development is essential to improving practice, increasing knowledge, resolving issues and developing innovative approaches to address concerns within the industry.

Call opportunities

We provide a range of funding opportunities throughout the year, across all livestock and crop areas. 

If you would like to receive notice of published Research Calls, please e-mail research@ahdb.org.uk, giving your name, e-mail address and name of your organisation, indicating which sectors you would like to receive calls for – horticulture, potatoes, cereals & oilseeds, dairy, pork, beef & lamb.

Your personal data will only be used by AHDB to inform you of Research Calls. It will not be used to send you marketing materials or sold to third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time. For further information on how AHDB looks after and uses data please read our Privacy Notice

Contract opportunities may also be advertised in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) if the contract value exceeds financial thresholds (currently £173,000).

However research and development (R&D) opportunities do not always have to be advertised in this way and may be found below.

Applying for funding

You are required to complete a standard AHDB proposal form for funding requests for research and/or KE activities that do not fall under the procurement of goods and services.

A complete set of guidelines and the relevant proposal forms are found below, please download them and submit them to research@ahdb.org.uk on completion.

Standard agreements

Our standard agreements can be downloaded below. They may be updated at any time by publication on this website. It is the suppliers' responsibility to keep themselves aware of any changes.
