On November 2, 1920, millions of women cast their votes in a national election for the first time. The political fight for women’s suffrage spanned the terms of 18 presidents, multiple generations, and lasted for more than 70 years. This vote marked an important moment, but not the end of the struggle. Visit Rise Up L.A. to find out more about women's continued fight for equality and representation in Los Angeles over the last century.
