Student Canvassers Will Visit 250,000+ Homes of Kansas Voters, Encourage Them to Vote YES on Pro-Life Amendment

Washington, D.C.—The national pro-life group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America announced today it will invest at least $1.3M in Kansas to educate voters on the pro-life Value Them Both constitutional amendment that will be on the statewide primary ballot August 2, 2022 – just weeks after the Dobbs decision is handed down.

Student canvassers with SBA Pro-Life America have already visited more than 100,000 homes across the state to educate voters and encourage them to vote YES on the amendment, which would clarify that there is no right to abortion or taxpayer-funded abortion in the state constitution and restore the right of Kansans and their elected officials to enact laws protecting unborn children and their mothers. Overall, the group plans to visit more than 250,000 homes before the August primary. In addition to canvassing, SBA Pro-Life America will deploy digital ads and voter contact mail.

“The Value Them Both Amendment restores the rights of Kansans to pass laws that protect women and children, especially from brutally painful late-term abortions,” said Mallory Carroll, spokeswoman for Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. “Over the coming weeks, our passionate student canvassers will communicate directly with Kansas primary voters on the importance of voting YES on this important Amendment.”

The amendment is necessary after the Kansas Supreme Court found an alleged right to abortion in the state when they struck down Kansas’s ban on brutally painful dismemberment abortions. Currently, painful late abortions up to 22 weeks are legal in the state.

“I met a voter who is pro-choice. But after I explained the VTB Amendment, he agreed with it! He thinks it’s never okay to have a late-term abortion, so he will vote yes!” – Julie, Scranton, KS

This election cycle, SBA Pro-Life America and its affiliated entities plan to spend $78 million to protect life across America. This includes reaching eight million voters across battleground states – four million directly at their doors – to educate them on key issues and win pro-life majorities in the U.S. House and Senate. This week the field team crossed an historic threshold having already visited more than two million homes across battleground states, ahead of Election Day.

Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is a network of more than one million pro-life Americans nationwide, dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for laws that save lives, with a special calling to promote pro-life women leaders.
