After a year’s hiatus due to COVID-19, North Little Rock’s annual holiday celebration, Northern Lights, made a successful comeback on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Argenta Plaza.

More than 3,000 attendees enjoyed the free holiday festivities, including photos with Santa, holiday market, food trucks, children’s arts and crafts, and storytime on the streetcar. Live entertainment included the musical duo Caleb and AbiLagniappe and carolers from Argenta Community Theater’s A Christmas Carol. Families enjoyed taking photos with Santa and the 38-foot Christmas tree and the evening finished with a beautiful fireworks show.

This year’s Santa was portrayed by Chris Kennedy, owner of Black Santa ARK LLC and North Little Rock local. Kennedy is a data analyst at First Orion Headquarters in North Little Rock by day, food blogger for Rock City Eats and the man behind @the_bearded_foodie_lr on Instagram by night.

Before, during and after the celebration, attendees enjoyed dining and more entertainment just down the street from Argenta Plaza in the Argenta Arts District.
