Competition Guidelines
Guidelines
Submission Requirements

All submissions must be completed electronically. No hard copy submissions will be accepted. To enter a project into this competition, you will need to prepare and submit the following:

Written Component

Your manufacturer's contact information including name, address, phone number, and email

Product statement: a description of your product (250-word maximum)

Images

Please submit color images of your completed project, in JPG or JPEG format with a maximum file size of 1MB. You may submit captions to your images, not to exceed 50 words. Take note of the following additional guidelines:

Submit 4-6 color images of your product

Use numbers to name your image files, in order of uploads (01, 02, 03, etc)
Do not reference or include your firm or manufacturer's name/logo in the images

Video (OPTIONAL)

You may submit an optional video that demonstrates the functionality of your product. Videos must be submitted in AVI, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, MOV, or MP4 format with a maximum file size of 50MB and should not exceed 90 seconds.

Categories

Projects must be submitted in one of the categories below. Categories may be renamed, consolidated, or eliminated (and projects reclassified) at the discretion of IIDA and/or the jurors.

Applied finishes and materials (wallcoverings, treatments, paints/coatings)

Textiles (upholstery and bedspread/drapery/casement fabrics)
Flooring (carpet/rugs, hard surfaces, resilients)
Seating - Individual (dining, lounge, outdoor)
Seating - Group (dining, lounge, outdoor)
Lighting (individual and series/collections)
Casegoods and freestanding furniture (individual and series/collections)
Accessories or specialities (artwork/signage/accent pieces, hardware/decorative metals/plastics, operations supplies/amenities)

Judging

The winning design projects will be selected by a jury of design professionals. Submissions are judged on excellence in aesthetics, design, creativity, and function as well as the suitability of the design solution to the project challenge and the successful integration of the elements of design. The jury reserves the right not to select a winner from the entries submitted.

Prize:

Winners will be published on the HD Magazine website, HDShow daily emails, and featured on IIDA.org. Winners will also receive official winner’s certificates, coverage and mention on IIDA’s social media accounts, and in an official press release distributed to leading industry outlets and media partners.
