Upper Extremity Rehabilitation Track

30 credit hour hybrid (online and lecture) program

The post-professional OTD Upper Extremity Rehabilitation track provides an opportunity for occupational therapists who have an entry-level master’s or BA degree in occupational therapy or equivalent to complete a 30 credit-hour track. The upper extremity rehabilitation curriculum can be completed in five 13-week courses, consisting of course work focused on upper extremity rehabilitation ending with a capstone experience. Each course is offered in an online format with on-site competency testing in psychomotor skills, physical exams and orthotics demonstration.

This OTD post-professional track is an option for potential candidates who are currently licensed as an occupational therapist by a state regulatory board in good standing with professional regulatory agencies that includes state licensing boards and the national board of certification in occupational therapy (NBCOT).

We also offer a post-professional OTD general track of study.

Features

The track is offered with a blended learning format that features online coursework and on-site instructor led skill development and competency. Students are guided through the course content with unit-by-unit breakdowns of course content that includes virtual interactions between students and occupational therapy faculty. Faculty are certified hand therapists (CHT’s) who have experience in owning and managing hand therapy clinics, have participated on hand transplant teams, have conducted research on upper extremity rehabilitation and have current experience in evidence-informed orthotics.
