Everyone is Talking About Adam Laxalt’s Sleazy Business Dealings

Everyone is talking about sleazy, corrupt politician Adam Laxalt’s big Washington, DC pay-day. A new column in the Nevada Independent raised important questions about how Laxalt raked in a whopping $2.2 million in just two years at Beltway-based law firm, Cooper & Kirk.

Here’s What We’re Seeing:

The Nevada Independent’s Jon Ralston: Sure, it’s written by a partisan. But it is completely factual on the parade of horribles that make Laxalt unfit for office. Caught on tape trying to influence a gaming regulator on Adelson’s behalf and then doing the late gaming chief’s bidding elsewhere. Will leave a mark.

Ethics and corporate money watchdog End Citizens United: New financial disclosures from Laxalt reveal that as a corporate lawyer he advocated on behalf of corporations that bankrolled his campaigns. Laxalt’s goal in Washington is to help corporate America pad their bottom line while exploiting working families.

Attorney Marc Elias quoted the op-ed: “Laxalt’s personal financial disclosure shows he has made $2.2 million there just in the past two years. Not bad for a mid-career attorney whose legal abilities drew comparison to a locomotive disaster from his employers here in Nevada.”

The Nevada Independent: OPINION: “Adam Laxalt is running to represent the people of Nevada in the U.S. Senate, but it is increasingly difficult to ascribe to him any basic fitness for that office.”

This Is Reno: Laxalt’s financial disclosures reveal more questionable financial relationships (opinion)
