Operation: Warm Winter

Winter is fast approaching and homeless Veterans across the country are not prepared for the cold.

But together, we can all turn up the heat for our Veterans in need.

Donate blankets, hats, gloves, and adult-sized coats so our Veterans can be prepared before the cold!

Operation: Warm Winter helps Soldiers’ Angels collect warm items that will be shared directly with homeless Veterans in need across the country through VA Hospitals we support. Formerly our annual Blanket Drive, this campaign has expanded to include highly requested coats and gloves.

The final count for 2023 is in and we exceeded our goal!

Thank you all for joining this year’s Operation: Warm Winter campaign! With your incredible support, we not only reached but exceeded our goal of collecting 2,000 warm winter items for homeless Veterans. In total, we gathered 2,478 items, including hats, gloves, blankets, and coats. Together, we made a difference! 🙌 #OperationWarmWinter #SupportOurVeterans

Join us next year for Operation: Warm Winter! The collection drive will run from July 1 – September 30, 2024.

Frequently Asked Questions

Soldiers’ Angels has created collection campaigns throughout the year as an opportunity for individuals, businesses, and organizations to come together and give back to our troops and veterans. These collection campaigns are meant to be held in a way that general members of the public (ie, your friends, family, classmates, co-workers, etc.) can donate to the campaign.

If you are hosting a collection, please do not solicit cash or in-kind donations from retailers, manufacturers, large corporations, or any other business entity. Due to the nature of those requests and the paperwork involved, solicitation of donations must come directly from Soldiers’ Angels. In most cases, we already have a relationship established with many of the major businesses. If you happen to have a connection at a retailer, manufacturer, large corporation, or other business entity that you think would be willing to donate cash or in-kind items to Soldiers’ Angels, please reach out to us and we would be happy to contact them. Email: [email protected]

Any and all opportunities to share your involvement with Soldiers’ Angels or your participation in this campaign with the media, including print media, news media, broadcast media (including podcasts), or major internet media (such as major blogs and YouTube channels), must first be cleared and approved by Soldiers’ Angels. We would love for you to help us spread the word about Soldiers’ Angels and this campaign, however, we need to ensure that the information you are sharing is accurate and that all guidelines are being followed. If you are contacted by the media, please forward the inquiry to us by emailing: [email protected]. We will do our best to work with you and the media source to ensure your story is shared accurately and in a timely manner.

You do not need to clear anything with Soldiers’ Angels if you would like to share information about your participation in this campaign through your personal social media channels or social media channels for your business or organization. We encourage you to help us spread the word through use of these channels! This includes Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, SnapChat, and any other smaller social channel.

If you are currently registered as an Angel, any contributions you make to the Operation: Warm Winter campaign will be considered an in-kind donation only and should not be accounted for when reporting your support on your Angel profile.

In order for your support to be counted towards the goal of the Soldiers’ Angels Operation: Warm Winter campaign, you cannot hand out your items directly to a homeless Veteran. Soldiers’ Angels works directly with VA Hospitals across the country to provide these items to homeless Veterans in need. Caseworkers at the VA work directly with Veterans who are homeless or face the threat of homelessness every single day. Working through the VA and VA case workers is the best way to ensure 1) those we are supporting are indeed Veterans of the United States Armed Services, and 2) the support is going directly to the individuals it was designed to support.

We appreciate your desire to assist directly within your community. However, if that is what you are hoping to do, it may be better to look for a local clothing closet, homeless shelter, or church program that works directly with homeless individuals in your area that may not specifically be military Veterans.

Once you finish your collection, please ship all of your items to Soldiers’ Angels via the address below. Your shipments must arrive or be postmarked within the Go Camo campaign period in order to count towards the goal.
