Looking for QC Murals

As you drive through the different cities that make up the Quad Cities, you can appreciate the beautiful places.  Did you see the public art and murals?  Have you ever really stopped to see the different murals around the QC or do you even notice them?

With this new mural bicycle scavenger hunt called Mural, Mural on the Wall, now is your chance to explore and see the murals in the QC up close.  It's fun whether you are a Quad Citizen exploring your own backyard, or you can make it a family event when visiting the QC.

The murals are located all throughout the QC.  If it seems daunting to look for all of them, you can select the ones in a certain community or set a specific time limit.  In these social distancing times, it would be a fun event to put together with several different families or a group of friends.  We had a whole group do this.  The teams work best for 2-4 people so it is a perfect number to make sure you maintain your distance.  Or do you need something to do on a Sunday afternoon because the kids are driving you crazy…well here you go!  Have fun and enjoy!

See below for the rules we used for our ride and the local mural sheets.

Mural, Mural on the Wall Ride Rules:

  1. All participants must be on a bike.
  2. Break into teams of 2-4 people.
  3. All team members must be in every photograph (no splitting up to find more).
  4. You must take a picture of your entire team in front of each mural.
  5. You must be back to the starting point by 4pm in order for any of your photos to qualify toward your final count.
  6. First team back with the most correct photographs by 4pm will be the champions with bragging rights.
  7. Each team member of the winning team will receive a prize!!
  8. In case of a tie, the judge will have a tie breaker available (you should be a little afraid of this one, lol)
  9. Have fun!!!
  10. Be safe!!

If you want to add another dimension or do a different scavenger hunt of local art, Quad City Arts has a list of the sculptures on display here as part of the Public Sculpture Program.
