At Naturbeads we replace polluting microplastics with natural and biodegradable microspheres made from cellulose – what trees are made of.
It's estimated that every year more than 2,000,000 tons of microplastics are added to many products we use every day like cosmetics, detergents, adhesives, paints and more. Often, at the end of their life, they end up in the oceans and the environment, where they persist for centuries because they are not biodegradable. Microplastics have been found from the top of the Arctic Mountains, to the depths of the Mariana Trench and anywhere in between including ourselves.
Founded in 2018, our incredible team of scientists and engineers has worked tirelessly to scale up a unique product that has been successfully tested to replace microplastics in multiple applications. We are one of the few companies addressing microplastics pollution and after extensive testing with our industrial partners we are now ready to build our first production plant (expected Q1 2025)

Our commitment to sustainability does not end with our products but extends to sourcing our feedstock materials from certified forestry or agricultural waste, licensing an energy efficient manufacturing process, and using non-toxic solvents which we recycle.
