About 4-H

4-H is a community where young people learn and lead.

4-H is Pennsylvania's largest youth development organization. Our programs are delivered through Penn State Extension in all 67 counties. We are in rural communities, small towns, and big cities across Pennsylvania—including a club near you. 4-H members tackle projects that build life skills, explore careers, and help young people find their passion in life.

4-H Mission

Our mission is to help young people reach their full potential through learning, leadership, service, and friendship. 4-H members work with dedicated, caring adults to complete challenging, rewarding projects that develop real-world skills that will serve them for life.

4-H Members

Kids as young as 5 years old can participate in our introductory program, Cloverbuds, and then become full 4-H members at age 8. Join through a community club, a school program, or a variety of short-term programs. 4-H members come from all walks of life and live in big cities, small towns, and everywhere in between. As a member, you can complete projects and participate in educational programs while learning about potential careers and gaining skills for their future.
