To simplify and streamline MOC and CME reporting, the AMA is collaborating with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to report physician participation in accredited CME activities to certain state and specialty medical boards.
If you are a licensed physician through one or more of the state medical boards mentioned below, CME credits for successfully completed AMA activities offered via the AMA Ed Hub, including CME from the JAMA Network™, will be automatically transferred on your behalf to the following boards:
-

-

-

-

-
Idaho State Board of Medicine
-

How it works
After you successfully complete and claim AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for a JAMA Network Continuing Medical Education CME activity on JN Learning™ or JN Listen™, or an eligible AMA activity, the associated CME activity information will be automatically transferred to the ACCME Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) which will in turn send them to the respective specialty board(s) as listed above.
A process similar to the one described above applies to all CME credits successfully earned from any JAMA Network and AMA activity available on the AMA Ed Hub. All completed CME information is automatically transmitted to the state boards listed above via ACCME's Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS).
Nothing! After you complete and claim AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, your CME activity information will be transmitted automatically to the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP), the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ABOHNS), the American Board of Pathology (ABPath) and/or the American Board of Surgery (ABS) via PARS. The respective specialty board will then issue related MOC credit/points. No additional action is needed.
Currently, credits from JAMA Network CME and qualifying AMA CME credits are transmitted automatically to ABIM, ABP, ABOHNS, ABPath and/or ABS. We anticipate adding additional boards in the future. Please sign up for updates to stay informed.
Currently, JAMA Network CME activities count for ABIM Medical Knowledge MOC points, ABP Lifelong Learning and Self-assessment (MOC Part 2) points, ABOHNS Lifelong Learning (Part II) MOC points, ABPath Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment (MOC Part 2) points and/or ABS Continuing Certification (MOC Part 2) points.
You can set your credit transmission preferences using the "My Preferences" section of this website. Simply select "no" under the "Send Credit Data?" and save your updates. If you choose to opt out, information regarding your participation in JAMA Network or AMA CME activities will not be transferred to the participating state and/or specialty boards. You can change your preferences and opt back in at any time.
