BP Measurement Refresher: Student Edition

Learning Objectives
1. Prepare and position a patient for blood pressure (BP) measurement
2. Perform BP measurements on a manual, semi-automated, and automated office BP device
3. Identify the different categories of BP
0.5 Credit CME

Studies have shown that blood pressure (BP) measurement skills decline after several months and BP guidelines recommend that health care providers receive periodic BP measurement re-training. However, many schools do not offer a BP measurement refresher course or reassessment following initial BP measurement training. This module is designed to follow the BP Measurement Essentials course as an ongoing refresher for students. It can support existing training efforts as students begin clinical experiences and throughout their career in alignment with evolving guidelines, technology and patient needs.
