N.J.’s coronavirus rate continues to plummet. See how it compares against the most hard-hit states.

New coronavirus infections continued to fall in New Jersey in the past week, though the spread of the virus was on the rise across the United States.

Atlantic County led the state in new infections from July 15 to July 22, with 3.3 per 10,000 people. But even that rate was a decline from the week before, when 3.6 infections per 10,000 were recorded in the South Jersey county.

That promising picture was seen throughout the state, where 18 of its 21 counties had their rates of new cases go down from the prior week. Only Salem (2.52 per 10,000) and Warren (1.79 per 10,000) saw upticks and Sussex County’s rate (1.2 per 10,000) remained the same.
