Summary:
Indoor air quality (IAQ) is one of the most commonly discussed aspect of building indoor environmental quality (IEQ). IAQ has direct effects on our health as well as the perception of an acceptable indoor environment. In the United States and the GCC, ASHRAE Standard 62.1: Ventilation for Acceptable Indoor Air Quality is the most commonly referenced standard to quantify acceptable conditions and appropriate HVAC system design. The standard either forms the basis for most mechanical codes or is directly referenced by the codes themselves. ASHRAE offers a customized training solution for practitioners that outlines the minimum acceptable requirements for buildings IAQ. The training focuses on the basic requirements of ASHRAE Standard 62.1. This training provides an overview of the requirements of the new standard with emphasis on changes from the previous version and practical application of the ventilation rate procedure. The training presents sample calculations for code review and for physical operation.
